Just ₹ 22,000 can sponsor a year of college for a student via distance learning
In the remote villages of Uttarakhand, countless children face a heartbreaking reality—they cannot pursue higher education due to the high cost of living in cities. This leaves them without the qualifications needed even for entry-level jobs, trapping them in a cycle of limited opportunities. To break this cycle, AITYS launched a transformative distance-learning program in 2024. Through this initiative, students can access quality education via Uttarakhand Open University without leaving their villages. With just Rs 22,000 per child per year, we cover the costs of a three-year online bachelor’s degree course, enabling students to study using their phones while staying close to home.
The program began in February 2024 with 22 students. By July, we expanded to support an additional 60 students, bringing the total to 82 young minds now on their journey to a brighter future. These students are gaining the qualifications needed to secure jobs, build better futures, and uplift their communities.
